   Our Experience Spans HIPAA History

    Founded in 2002, HIPAA Group was one of the first HIPAA training and consulting firms to enter the marketplace. Today, we’re     stronger and smarter than ever.

    Before the first HIPAA compliance date in 2003, we were deeply involved with HIPAA at the federal level. Our President led a     team assembled by the Southern Healthcare Administrative Regional Process (SHARP), to produce the original “HIPAA     Compliance Extension Plan” for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). HHS released the Plan to all     HIPAA Covered Entities on March 29, 2002. That was just the beginning.

    Early on, HIPAA Group was chosen to train over 2,700 healthcare professionals in a leading “Top 100” integrated health     system in Illinois. Hundreds of other live training sessions over the years have allowed us to share our knowledge of HIPAA     with   thousands of learners. Today, our online training programs provide around-the-clock HIPAA education wherever and     whenever   people need it. Our training and compliance tools have helped medical and business entities in every US state and     many   foreign countries.

    HIPAA Group is University tested and approved. The University of Central Florida (UCF), which delivers some of the most     respected healthcare curricula in the nation, made HIPAA Group an official, UCF Authorized Training Partner in 2002. HIPAA     Group has trained the University’s professors, administrators, staff, and Office of the General Counsel.

    In addition, several online HIPAA courses authored by HIPAA Group are today offered by the University of Central Florida (UCF)     to students, faculty, and to the healthcare community nationwide.
